SERVICES TO BE PERFORMED BY CONTRACT PROVIDERS
1. The Contract Provider shall provide pharmacy services in accordance with (a) applicable local, tribal, state, and federal laws relating to the provision of pharmacy services; (b) generally accepted medical (standard of care) and ethical standards prevailing in the community at the time service is rendered; (c) WIHCC professional and administrative rules, regulations, requirements, policies and procedures; and (d) the terms and conditions of this Contract.
2. The Contract Provider will be scheduled to provide services by the WIHCC Chief of Pharmacy or their designee.
3. The Contract Provider will provide care for WIHCC patients in a pharmaceutical setting at the following locations, as assigned by the WIHCC Chief of Pharmacy or their designee:

4. The Contract Pharmacist shall fill prescriptions and Over-the-Counter (OTC) medications, assure the accuracy of the pharmacy technicians’ work, counsel each patient, review patient charts for adverse drug reactions and/or allergies and to determine the safety and appropriateness of drug therapy. In addition, do a thorough drug review to identify drug-drug or drug-food interactions, and duplication of therapy.
5. The Contract Pharmacist shall maintain health records by proper and complete documentation of observations, therapeutic measures, consultations with medical providers, and patient education.
6. The Contract Pharmacy Technician shall set up prescription orders from familiar items in prepackaged & pre-labeled containers; count from stock bottles followed a direct copy of the provider’s medication order, and place them in vials and/or packages for final check by the Pharmacist. The Contract Pharmacy Technician will reconstitute certain sterile medications when one step procedures and measuring is involved.
7. The Contract Pharmacy Technician will receive and store properly any supplies in the department in coordination with the Pharmacy Buyer or the Chief Pharmacist.
8. The Contract Pharmacy Technician and Contract Pharmacist will identify customer/patient needs and expectations in regards to pharmacy and respond to them in a timely and effective manner.
9. The Contract Provider shall participate in and cooperate with all WIHCC Quality Management, Contract Health Services and other activities as directed by the WIHCC Chief of Pharmacy.
10. The Contract Provider shall cooperate with the WIHCC Business Office regarding all matters pertaining to billing third party payors, including adhering to Medicare and Medicaid (CMS) standards, for services provided by the Pharmacy. The WIHCC Business Office shall perform all coding and collection activities, and WIHCC shall collect and retain all third party reimbursements, for services provided to WIHCC patients.
11. The Contract Provider shall report to and perform services under the general supervision and oversight of the WIHCC Chief of Pharmacy.
