Job Description

Four Winds Staffing is seeking a licensed Pharmacist for a 12-month contract assignment at the Warm Springs Health & Wellness Center; a federal Indian Health Service (IHS) facility located on the Warm Springs Reservation in central Oregon. This is an outpatient clinical pharmacy role supporting medication dispensing, prescription verification, patient counseling, immunizations, and blood pressure screenings during regular clinic hours.

IMPORTANT - REMOTE/RURAL ASSIGNMENT: Warm Springs is approximately 2 hours from Bend and 2.5 hours from Portland. Housing near the facility is limited; candidate must be willing to relocate temporarily or arrange their own lodging.

Responsibilities

  • Fill, verify, and dispense prescriptions with 99%+ accuracy.
  • Review every prescription for safety, appropriateness, and effectiveness prior to dispensing (100% compliance).
  • Counsel patients on medication use, storage, precautions, and side effects; document each encounter.
  • Administer immunizations and offer blood pressure screenings per facility clinical guidelines.
  • Document services in Government systems (RPMS, EHR, ScriptPro, or equivalent).
  • Coordinate workflow with on-site pharmacy staff and medical providers.
  • Maintain audit-ready compliance with federal, state, IHS, and facility policies.
  • Follow infection control, PPE, hygiene, and HIPAA privacy/security protocols.

Minimum Requirements

Education

  • Graduate of an accredited U.S. pharmacy program (PharmD or BS Pharmacy).

Licensure

  • Current, active, UNRESTRICTED pharmacy license in any U.S. State, Territory, or DC.
  • No suspensions, restrictions, probation, or pending disciplinary actions on any license.
  • Oregon license NOT required - any U.S. jurisdiction is acceptable.

Experience

  • Prior outpatient/retail or clinic pharmacy experience (dispensing, verification, counseling).
  • Comfortable with electronic pharmacy systems.
  • PREFERRED: RPMS, IHS EHR, or ScriptPro experience.
  • PREFERRED: Prior IHS, tribal health, VA, or rural/remote clinic experience.

Certifications

  • Current immunization administration certification.
  • BLS / CPR (current).
