PTO : Paid time off is 3 hours every pay period. It does not roll over if you become permanent at the site.
Note: payroll is bi-weekly
Overtime Note: Total shifts worked annually shall be in accordance to the total number of work hours allocated for the year by WRSU. Unless exempt, medical professionals covered by the Fair Labor Standards Act on a compressed schedule must receive overtime pay for hours worked over 80 in a two week pay period, as defined by the HHS payroll calendar. Contractors will not be scheduled in excess of 80 hours in a defined pay period.
Job Duties Include but not limited to; Initiate the nursing process for admitted patients. Assess, design, implement and evaluate nursing interventions. Follow through with planned nursing actions and patient education. Carry out physician orders; administer medications, blood and/or blood by-products, oxygen, and a variety of treatments. Manage a wide variety of therapeutic devices such as drainage, feeding and suction tubes also respiratory and electrocardiograph machines and other medical equipment and supplies. Measure and assess vital signs, height, weight, and neurological status, effects of medication, visual acuity and hearing. Provide direct patient care; assist patients with activities of daily living and ambulation. Observe and document patient care provided changes in patient’s conditions, observations and other designated unit activities in the accepted format and form. Collaborate and coordinate patient care with other health care providers and hospital staff.
Assign and direct the patient care provided by ancillary nursing staff. Perform quality control for crash cart checks, lab checks, capillary blood glucose monitoring checks, etc. Collect or assist in collection of specimens, i.e., blood, urine, stool, etc. Recognize life-threatening emergencies, initiate, and maintain resuscitation. Measures and other emergency Procedures as appropriate to the situation. Recognize adverse reactions to medications, treatments, and procedures and initiate interventions as appropriate to the situation.
Answer and screen telephone calls, take off and initiate medical orders. In addition to the list of Inpatient duties, the Birthing Center Nurse will provide care to patients ante and post-partum, and through all stages of labor and birth, as well as couplet care. Incumbent manages complex patient care situations surrounding complications related to birth and pregnancy and be prepared to function in emergency
