Requirements: 2 years of experience as a registered nurse, with 2 years of experience within the respective specialty. Minimum Education: A.S. Degree from an Accredited Nursing School Program, Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree. Current RN License (Any State) free from disciplinary actions and restrictions.

Job Description: Operating / Procedure Room Nurse Duties (Same Day Surgery, Pre‐Op, Operating Room, Post‐Anesthesia Care Unit)
- Provide care listed in Inpatient Care Nurse Duties above. Perform pre‐operative assessment and teaching for patients and families. Select, prepare, and process supplies, instruments and special equipment for specific procedures, anticipating possible complications. Devise draping techniques and protocols for special or new procedures and techniques. Coordinate special needs with physicians and/or personnel of other departments to assure continuity of care is provided. Anticipate patient needs through continual observation and monitoring. Meet the needs of the surgeon and anesthesia personnel by assisting with induction, problems during the course of surgery, and assisting with procedures under conscious sedation. Provide for and contributes to patient safety through control and monitoring of internal and external environment through biological testing, product evaluation, needle, sponge and instrument counts, aseptic practices and implementing professional standards of practice. Assist with GIscoping procedures, obtaining lab specimens, and administering /monitoring conscious sedation. Provide pre‐procedure assessments and post‐procedure recovery care.
