Nurse Practitioner – Primary Care

Peter Christensen Health Center – Lac du Flambeau, WI

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8 AM–5 PM (4x10 option available)

Assignment Length: 3–6 months (possible extension)

Overview:

Peter Christensen Health Center (PCHC), serving the Lac du Flambeau Band of Lake Superior Chippewa Indians and surrounding communities, is seeking a Locum Tenens Nurse Practitioner to provide primary care services in a collaborative Tribal health setting. Providers benefit from strong support staff, modern EHR tools, and an efficient clinical workflow.

Responsibilities:

• Provide outpatient primary care for pediatric, adult & geriatric patients
• Diagnose and manage acute and chronic conditions
• Perform joint injections, incision & drainage (I&D), and minor primary care procedures
• Order and interpret labs and diagnostics
• Complete accurate documentation in the clinic’s EHR
• Deliver patient-centered, culturally sensitive care in a tribal health environment

Requirements:

• Active Wisconsin NP license & national certification
• DEA (or ability to obtain)
• Primary care experience preferred
• BLS required; ACLS preferred
• Competency in joint injections and I&D procedures

Compensation:

• 40 hours/week, Mon–Fri 
• Malpractice coverage included
